Heading south when the weather up north in Ohio is cold is a practical thing to do to warm the chilled bones. Moreover, visiting these two particular cities can be a pleasure, as they both have their own charm and storied histories.
However, being an avowed liberal and registered democrat, I dared not talk politics to anyone, for southern hospitality could easily have turned to outright hostility. To be sure, I'm all for harmony and congeniality. The world needs more of it.
